The Porto Tolle Fishing Museum represents a journey through images in the world of fishing in the Po Delta. In the Museum premises, the aim is to reconstruct and introduce what for the Porto Tolle municipality is not only a working activity, but also a way of life and a culture. The territory is analysed in its whole, as a combination of past and present, cultural heritage and landscape, economic activities and lifestyle.

The Museum is then divided into 3 rooms, marking 3 different themes:

Recent Past - Dedicated to the recent history of the territory and the main events that characterised it.
In the centre of the room is the interactive multimedia island for choosing and exploring the topics covered.
In the room, objects related to fishing activity are displayed.

Shapes and Colours - The lagoon and coastal environments are described, from the Po di Maistra to the Po di Goro, the Po branches between which the Municipality of Porto Tolle extends, and the landscape features. All this through images and video clips that can be seen on the two 75" TV-monitors, placed on the totem in the centre of the room. The connected tablets allow visitors to "surf" on their own, focusing on their favourite topics. As in Room 1, large printed panels with photos and texts are continuously affixed to the walls for the visitor's involvement. Representative objects of rural civilisation are displayed in this room.

By Sea and Lagoons - Dedicated to professional fishing, techniques, crops, trade. The visitor is always introduced to the narrative through an iconographic and didactic apparatus printed on large panels continuously affixed to the walls. Part of the room is dedicated to the display of objects related to fishing activity. As in the other rooms, there is a multimedia station interfaced with tablets for consulting the contents. Local fishermen and operators talk about their experience and activities in the colourful fishing world in Porto Tolle.

Opening times: Open on Sundays and public holidays from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 3.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. Upon reservation for groups and school classes, the museum is also open on weekdays (visits can be booked by contacting the Tourist Office - IAT).
