Delta is TasteDelta è Gusto is a flavors network. It is a Veneto Po Delta Park project born in the context of the project
PO FEAMP 2014/2020 regarding the valorisation and promotion of quality products in the fishing sector which aims to network the excellence and producers of the area.
The Po Delta is a land rich in biodiversity also from a gastronomic point of view. Fishing is a strong point represented by lots of products ranging from (anchovies, mackerel, sardines…) to the famous mussels grown in the lagoons (mussels, clams and pink oysters) to fish farmed in the valley (sea bass, sea bream, mullet, eels,…).
Another excellence of the territory is the cultivation of rice, it has also determined its history. First of all because that allowed the reclamation of land reclaimed from the waters, for this reason Delta rice brings with it unique feautures and it is particularly appreciated for risotto preparations.
However, there are other excellences that stand out for their unique flavors on the tables of the Delta: honey, present in different varieties (from classic wildflower honey, to acacia, sandbank honey... up to the recent lavender honey); radicchio di Chioggia PGI, is an excellence from the Rosolina area; Gin Caleri, one of a kind it is already appreciated by leading experts; the sweet Delta melon and many others. You just have to come and taste everything… because the journey and the experience also pass through the flavors of the territory.
